Keep looking for these in your practice – don’t tell yourself off for not doing it. Just switch it on, happy that you noticed. If you did just tell yourself off, have a chuckle and move on.
- never work into pain…and be curious about a niggle.
- connect the pelvic tilt to tummy muscles on, in all the poses (that ‘lengthen your tail bone away’ instruction
- find tadasana in all asana
- a strong leg, not a locked leg
- Feeling the pull of gravity reminds us to lift
- Yoga is a conversation with our bodies. A conversation between equals. Seek compromise. Accept that sometimes the answer is ‘no’.
- Come to your mat without expectations. The same asana is different every day. See the truth of this in your practice and accept it.
- In back bends, we lengthen our spines into extension. ‘Bend’ is a slight misnomer – we lengthen so much we go backwards.
- Do not sacrifice the detail for the movement.
