Begins Monday 10th May 2021
Hello all and welcome back! Sw’mae a chroeso n’ol!
The theme this year is nature – and the benefits of getting out in it. And if the weather is clement, I’ll post some outdoor yoga sometime
If you would like more information on the week, and the mental health benefits of being outdoors, here is a good place to start.
I have the absolute privilege of having a lovely back garden (on a hill, mind) and an allotment (that is currently suffering from neglect, but that’s another story). I’m also lucky to live in South Wales, in a place called Neath – wherever you are, here, you’re two steps away from the wilderness: Eaglebush Valley is one of my favourite places. But we aren’t short of options. We found a hedgehog recently – I’ve never seen a wild one. We have foxes and badgers too. And an open invite to Chris Packham 😁
Here’s my contribution to improved mental health. I’ve posted it in 3 parts, but it’s one class. It is a restorative class (one of yoga’s secret weapons) – we use these to recharge the batteries, reset the stress levels and calm & stabilise the emotions. It’s a holiday for body & mind, concentrated into an hour (or so).
Give it a go, even if you’re new. Forgive the edit – it’s as finished as my motivation allows, with the benefit having finally been shared 😁. Also, I’m doing nearly everything so far, on my phone – hence the lack of different camera angles, and the extra minutes in places. Life remains a work in progress.
Restorative Part 1 – preparation
Restorative Part 2 – the restorative bit
Part 3 – shavasana

I hope you enjoyed this piece.
Peace out,
